1. Fixed JSON response deserialization. While creating a mock a JSON can be passed which will be deserialized into a response object and returned from agent layer.
For e.g. for a mock corresponding to StopCommand, a response like "{"com.cloud.agent.api.StopAnswer":{"result":false,"wait":0}}" can be passed.
2. Ability to mock PingCommand (returned as part of getCurrentStatus() agent method). As a part of this a mocked VM state report can be returned.
For e.g. {"com.cloud.agent.api.PingRoutingWithNwGroupsCommand":{"newGroupStates":{},"newStates":{},"_hostVmStateReport":{"v-2-VM":{"state":"PowerOn","host":"SimulatedAgent.e6df7732-69b2-429b-9b6a-3e24dddfa2e0"},"i-2-5-VM":{"state":"PowerOff","host":"SimulatedAgent.e6df7732-69b2-429b-9b6a-3e24dddfa2e0"}},"_gatewayAccessible":true,"_vnetAccessible":true,"hostType":"Routing","hostId":3,"contextMap":{},"wait":0}}
in the XenServer pool for GRE tunnel networks
Fix uses XenServer recommended way
Network.other_config:assume_network_is_shared=true

bridge is created by plugging a VIF into the dom0 and connected to

XenServer does not create a bridge automatically when VIF from domU is connected
to internal network. So there is logic to force bridge creation by
creating VIF in dom0 connected to GRE tunnel network. But there is no
logic to delete the VIF after bridge gets created. So this fix ensure
VIF is delted when atleast there is one domU VIF connected to the
network.

We used to create the snapshot after the copy from Secondary Storage,
but it could be that we never use the snapshot.
Now we check if the snapshot exists prior to performing the cloning operation
Since we use qemu-img to copy from RBD to Secondary Storage we no
longer have to force to RAW images, but can stick with QCOW2
When the snapshot backups are QCOW2 format they can easily be deployed
again when restoring from a backup
The KVMStorageProcessor no longer has a hardcoded if-statement which sets
RBD volumes to RAW, this is now handled in the LibvirtStorageAdapter
The Management Server still sends QCOW2 as format. That's a fix for later.

Added a new flag 'checkBeforeCleanup' to StopCommand based on which check is done to see if VM is running in HV host.
If VM is running then in this case it is not stopped and the operation bails out.
Also modified the MS code to call the StopCommand with appropriate value for the flag based on the context.
Currently it is only set to 'true' when called from the new vmsync logic based on powerstate of VM. For rest it
is set to 'false' meaning no change in behaviour.
This reduces the amount of time and storage it takes dramatically. We no longer
do a full copy, but a sparse copy. The destination image is still in RAW
format, but we only copy over used blocks.
Qemu is also better in doing this then us doing it in Java code.
Otherwise a RBDException will be thrown with the message that the snapshot
isn't protected.

With VirtIO enabled on KVM. FreeBSD 10 supports VirtIO for both the
network and the disks. This frees us from IDE and E1000 which should
also improve performance.
By default all network disks are in RAW format. Gluster works fine with
QCOW2 which has some advantages.
Disks are by default in QCOW2 format. It is possible to run into
a mismatch, where the disk is in QCOW2 format, but QEMU gets started
with format=raw. This causes the virtual machines to lockup on boot.
Failures to start a virtual machine can be verified by checking the log
of the virtual machine, and compare the output of 'qemu-img info'.
In /var/log/libvirt/qemu/<VM>.log find the URL for the drive:
-drive file=gluster+tcp://...,format=raw,..
Compare this with the 'qemu-img info' output of the same file, mounted
under /mnt/<pool-uuid>/<img-uuid>:
# qemu-img info /mnt/<pool-uuid>/<img-uuid>

Replaced HttpClient#execute(HttpUriRequest) with
HttpClient#execute(HttpUriRequest,ResponseHandler<T>).
The former requires extra EntityUtils#consume(HttpEntity).
This saves us a lot of code and libvirt is probably a better
place to do this.

(C)LVM volumes can't be resized using libvirt, so we have to

service and not used for LB
Fix adds a boolean flag to addNetscalerLoadBalancer api, which
will mark added NetScaler for exclusive GSLB service. A netscaler marked
as exclusive gslb service provider is not picked for any guest network's
lb provider.
This patch adds support for trust chains in the netscaler.
I initially planned on using the 10.1 API's "bundle" feature but during
my testing I found that was not working. So I am doing the chain linking
myself. Also NS can have only one entity of a certificate ie lets say
two different users try to add the same certificate on the netscaler
only one of them will go through. The other one says resouce already
exists even though they have different files.
This can be a problem in trust chains where the chain can be shared
between multiple accounts/certificates. So, I am using the figerprint as
an identifier of a certificate and making sure that we delete it only
when no one references it.

Now VPN connection can be created as "passive", which would enable the ability
of remote peer initiate the connection. So it's possible for VPC VR to
establish the connection to another VPC VR of CloudStack.
Test case also included.
The test case would create 2 vpcs and using VPN to connect them.
1) vxlan will use bridge scheme 'brvx-<vni>'. Multiple physical networks can host guest
traffic type with vxlan isolation, so long as they don't use the same VNI range.
2) Guest traffic labels can be physical interface if bridge by given name is not found.
Normally we take traffic label name, find the matching bridge, then resolve that to a
physical interface. Then we create guest bridges on that interface. Now we can just
specify the interface.

Currently any new API extension to CloudStack must edit
commands.properties to add the appropriate ACLs. This generally works
fine for ACS as we control the contents of that file and distribute
all the code ourself. The hang up comes when somebody develops code
outside of ACS and want to add their code to an existing ACS
installation. The Spring work that has been done has made this much
easier, but you are still required to manually edit
commands.properties. This change introduces the following logic.
First check commands.properties for ACL info. If ACL info exists, use
that to authorize the command. If no ACL information exists (ie
null), then look at the @APICommand annotation. The defaults of
@APICommand will provide no ACL info. If the @APICommand annotation
provides no ACL info, use that.

Introduction of a new Transaction API that is more consistent with the style
of Spring's transaction managment. The existing Transaction class was renamed
to TransactionLegacy. All of the non-DAO code in the management server has been
updated to use the new Transaction API.
I don't think host kernel version has any bearing on it. Original code
was tested with CentOS 6.3 and 6.4, but it seems to succeed or fail per-host,
e.g. a fast host might work and a slow host might not. I was getting intermittent
failures with ubuntu 12.04.3 prior to this patch.
These changes are a joint effort between Edison and I to refactor some
of the code around snapshotting VM volumes and creating
templates/volumes from VM volume snapshots. In general, we were working
towards allowing PrimaryDataStoreDrivers to create snapshots on primary
storage and not requiring the snapshots to be transferred to secondary
storage.
High level changes:
-Added uuid to NfsTO, SwiftTO & S3TO to cut down on the requirement of
PrimaryDataStoreTO and ImageStoreTO which don't really serve much of a
purpose
-Initial work towards enable reverting VM volume from snapshots
-Added hypervisor commands for introducing and forgetting new hypervisor
objects (snapshots, templates & volumes)

ACS is now comprised of a hierarchy of spring application contexts.
Each plugin can contribute configuration files to add to an existing
module or create it's own module.
Additionally, for the mgmt server, ACS custom AOP is no longer used
and instead we use Spring AOP to manage interceptors.
The managed context framework provides a simple way to add logic
to ACS at the various entry points of the system. As threads are
launched and ran listeners can be registered for onEntry or onLeave
of the managed context. This framework will be used specifically
to handle DB transaction checking and setting up the CallContext.
This framework is need to transition away from ACS custom AOP to
Spring AOP.
Various classes are using member injection to inject extensible objects.
Really those object should come from an AdapterList that is injected in.
This patch switches the code to use setter injection that will later allow
spring to inject an AdapterList or something similar to allow
extensibility.
DefaultUserAuthenticator maskes the _name varible in ComponentLifecycleBase
making the setName() method not work as expected. This patch cleans up the
code such that getName() will be getClass().getSimpleName() unless
overridden in the Spring configuration.

- Add VxlanGuestNetworkGuru as plugin for VXLAN isolation
- Modify NetworkServiceImpl to handle extended vNet range for VXLAN isolation
- Add VXLAN isolation option in zoneWizard UI

- Add modifyvxlan.sh script that handle bridge/vxlan interface manipulation script

- BridgeVifDriver will call modifyvxlan.sh instead of modifyvlan.sh when VXLAN is used for isolation
Database changes:

The bridge name on old host is set to cloudVirBr* if network.bridge.name.schema is set to 3.0 in /etc/cloudstack/agent/agent.properties, but the actual bridge name is breth*-* after running cloudstack-agent-upgrade.
(2) all ports of vms (Basic zone, or Advanced zone with security groups) on old hosts are open, because the iptables rules are binding to device (bridge) name which is changed by cloudstack-agent-upgrade.
After this, the KVM upgrade steps :
a. Install 4.2 cloudstack agent on each kvm host

The migrate method from libvirt supports passing down a different XML for running
the instance of the target hypervisor.
This enables the VNC to bind to the private IP Address of the hypervisor and during
migration this will be changed to the private IP address of the target host.
This way VNC doesn't listen world wide and is much safer.
It was implemented by extending the NFS provider. Its validation was updated so that you can pass it a URL containing the
details of a CIFS share. The code that mounts NFS shares was extended to allow it do the same for CIFS shares. Otherwise,
the secondary storage code is left unchanged.

If all the VM's volumes are on zone wide primary storage pool then live migration of the VM would not involve storage migration. Hence MigrateVM API would be called against MigrateVMWithVolume. So far PrepareForMigrationCommand handled scenarios of VM moving across hosts within a cluster, but with zone wide primary storage in picture this command need to handle scenarios of VM moving across clusters. The problem was because in cloudstack when a vm is stopped it gets destroyed on the host. For a
windows vm the timeoffset (which can be set by changing the timezone from within the vm) is stored
in the platform:timeoffset attribute of vm record. The information is lost when the vm is destroted.
Made change to read and persist the platform:timeoffset vm attribute when an instance is stopped.
The value is persisted in the user_vm_details table. When the vm is started again the attribute is

For static NAT rule an IP pool gets created in VNMC. In order to make the pool name unique the rule id is appended. Since static NAT rules are not stored in CS db. like PF/FW rules, the id was always set to 0.
As a result the pool was always getting overridden everytime a static NAT rule is created. Fixed it by appending the public IP address id along with a character indicating that the pool is used for static NAT rule to the pool name.

Issues:
In Implicit planner resource usage is fixed to "Dedicated". It should be Dedicated/Shared depending upon the Implict Planner strict/preferred modes and hosts availability.
Fixed:
Issue is fixed by determining the resource usage to be "Dedicated/Shared" depending upon the Implicit strict/preferred mode and the hosts availability for the planner.
This feature allows a user to deploy VMs only in the resources dedicated to his account or domain.
1. Resources(Zones, Pods, Clusters or hosts) can be dedicated to an account or domain.
Implemented 12 new APIs to dedicate/list/release resources:
- dedicateZone, listDedicatedZones, releaseDedicatedZone for a Zone.
- dedicatePod, listDedicatedPods, releaseDedicatedPod for a Pod.
- dedicateCluster, listDedicatedClusters, releaseDedicatedCluster for a Cluster
- dedicateHost, listDedicatedHosts, releaseDedicatedHost for a Host.
2. Once a resource(eg. pod) is dedicated to an account, other resources(eg. clusters/hosts) inside that cannot be further dedicated.
3. Once a resource is dedicated to a domain, other resources inside that can be further dedicated to its sub-domain or account.
4. If any resource (eg.cluster) is dedicated to a account/domain, then resources(eg. Pod) above that cannot be dedicated to different accounts/domain (not belonging to the same domain)
5. To use Explicit dedication, user needs to create an Affinity Group of type 'ExplicitDedication'
6. A VM can be deployed with the above affinity group parameter as an input.
7. A new ExplicitDedicationProcessor has been added which will process the affinity group of type 'Explicit Dedication' for a deployment of a VM that demands dedicated resources.
This processor implements the AffinityGroupProcessor adapter. This processor will update the avoid list.
8. A VM requesting dedication will be deployed on dedicatd resources if available with the user account.
9. A VM requesting dedication can also be deployed on the dedicated resources available with the parent domains iff no dedicated resources are available with the current user's account or
domain.
10. A VM (without dedication) can be deployed on shared host but not on dedicated hosts.
11. To modify the dedication, the resource has to be released first.
12. Existing Private zone functionality has been redirected to Explicit dedication of zones.
13. Updated the db upgrade schema script. A new table "dedicated_resources" has been added.
14. Added the right permissions in commands.properties
15. Unit tests: For the new APIs and Service, added unit tests under : plugins/dedicated-resources/test/org/apache/cloudstack/dedicated/DedicatedApiUnitTest.java
16. Marvin Test: To dedicate host, create affinity group, deploy-vm, check if vm is deployed on the dedicated host.
An extra public ip is acquired while implementing the vnmc element as there is a limitation where in the source nat cannot be used as asa outside ip.
As a result of this when the network gets re-implemented an additional ip is acquired every time. The fix involves checking for existing public ips
in the network and reuse it in case it is not a source nat ip for assigning to asa outside interface.

RBD format 2 supports cloning (aka layering) where one base image can serve
as a parent image for multiple child images.
This enables fast deployment of a large amount of virtual machines, but it also
saves spaces on the Ceph cluster and improves performance due to better caching.
Qemu-img doesn't support RBD format 2 (yet), so to enable these functions the
RADOS/RBD Java bindings are required.
This patch also enables deployment of System VMs on RBD storage pools. Since we
no longer require a patchdisk for passing the boot arguments we are able to deploy
these VMs on RBD.
Detail: We do two strange things, #1, when a vm is created, we create the uuid
for the domain by converting the name into a uuid, then subsequently, any time
we look for a domain, we convert its name to a uuid and domainLookupByUUID. This
is an unnecessary obfuscation, so instead we just do a domainLookupByName. As
a bonus, we are now setting the domain's uuid to be the cloudstack uuid. It is
no longer used anywhere, but will be less confusing to admins. This shouldn't
affect upgrades, since we can always lookup existing VMs by name.

Each rule created in VNMC under a policy object needs to have an unique order value. Rules are evaluated based on this value.
Eariler order was computed based on the rule count under a policy object. This resulted in duplicate order value when rules get
deleted and recreated. Changed the logic to compute order based on the CS db id of the rule which is unique.
When dmc is enabled allow cloudstack to scale the VM between dynamic

When setting memory constraints on Xen guests we should honor:
static-min <= dynamic-min <= dynamic-max <= static-max
Our VmSpec while allows the guests to like between dynamic-min and
dynamic-max the memory set by the resource set the static min to be
equal to the dynamic max. This restricts the hypervisor from ensuring
optimized memory handling of guests.
see: http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/XCP_FAQ_Dynamic_Memory_Control#How_does_XCP_choose_targets_for_guests_in_dynamic_range_mode.3F
Another fix was related the restrict_dmc option. when enabled (true)
this option disallows scaling a vm. The logic was reverse handled

fixed.

1. A new implicit planner which extends the functionality provided by FirstFitPlanner.
2. Implicit planner can be used in either strict or preferred mode. In strict mode it tries to deploy a vm of a given account on a host on which vms of the account are already running. If no such host is found it'll search for an empty host to service the request. Otherwise the deploy vm request fails.
3. In preferred mode, if a host which is running vms of the account or an empty host isn't found, the planner then tries to deploy on any other host provided it isn't running implicitly dedicated strict vms of any other account.
4. Updated the createServiceOffering api to configure the details for the planner that the service offering is using.
5. Made db changes to store the service offering details for the planner.
6. Unit tests for testing the implicit planner functionality.
7. Marvin test for validating the functionality.
- Changes merged from planner_reserve branch
- Exposing deploymentplanner as an optional parameter while creating a service offering
- changes to DeploymentPlanningManagerImpl to make sure host reserve-release happens between conflicting planner usages.

Ip and port pool object names in VNMC were created by appending guest vlan, public ip and id of corresponding rule for better readability. This resulted in the name exceeding max. length allowed.
Shortened the name by removing public ip part from it.
This feature enables adding of guest ip ranges (public ips) form different subnets.
In order to provide the dhcp service to a different subnet we create an ipalias on the router. This allows the router to listen to the dhcp request from the guest vms and respond accordingly. Every time a vm is deployed in the new subnet we configure an ip alias on the router. Cloudstack uses dnsmasq to provide dhcp service. We need to configure the dnsmasq to issue ips on the new subnets. Added a new class dnsmasqconfigurator which generates the dnsmasq confg file, this file replaces the old config in the router.
The details of the alias ips are stored in db in the nic_ip_alias table. Every time a new subnet is added one of the ip from the subnet is used to configure the ip alias.

An input parameter was incorrectly interpreted during egress rule creation and so resulted in NPE. Created a new vnmc xml for handling creation of egress rule with protocol as 'All'
Due to VNMC limitation source nat ip cannot be assigned to ASA 1000v outside interface. Working around this issue by acquiring additional public ip during network implement and assigning that to outside interface of ASA. Also made changes to ensure that source nat policy comes after pf and static nat policies in terms of evaluation by assigning a high 'order' value for it.

blocking public access to the VM's in basic zone using EIP.
Its required that both RNAT and INAT rules are required on the NetScaler
to provide public connectivity to user VM's in both in-bound and out-bound
directions. Currenely only INAT rule is added which permits inbound public
traffic to VM. This fix adds RNAT rule aswell, which ensures the outbound
public access from the user VM's
Start/stop vm/dhcp server are done. Not done with VM migration.
A new command(PvlanSetupCommand) is sent for setting up PVLAN for vms. Currently
it's focus on OVS implementation. Need to be more abstruct and add vSwitch part.
This reverts commit 8e917b1ad3.
Fixing the eclipse setting issue caused by excluding <cs.target.dir>.
This also fixes the incubation -> graduation links in the various poms.

- associateIpAddress API to associate a public IP with shared network
- shared network with services to go through the implement and shutwdon
phases
Add a flag VmDetailConstants.NESTED_VIRTUALIZATION_FLAG
Add an advanced config uption VmwareEnableNestedVirtualization
Depending on the settings of the flags and the capabilities of the target hypervisor the nested virtualization option will be set on guest VMs. It's a global setting intended only for developers to support cloud-in-a-cloud deployments.
For now it replaces ConsoleProxyManagerImpl with StaticConsoleProxyManager
Usage: mvn install -Dquickcloud
QuickCloud: rename deploy profile
QuickCloud: remove cyclic dependency introduced in nonoss build by moving SecondaryStorageDiscoverer into services
However with this fix, developers will be unable to run 'PremiumSecondaryStorageResource' (for VMWare installations) using mvn exec:java.
Instead they will have to use the exploded archive from systemvm.zip
netscaler.nitro jar.
If it's there we might as well use it.
This fixes build problems for people with old netscaler jars as the
version was not updated in the jar.

Description:
Making SHA256SALT the default encoding algorithm to encode
passwords when creating/updating users.
Introducing a new configurable list to allow admins to
separately configure the order of preference for encoding
and authentication schemes.
Since passwords are now sent by clients as clear text,
fixing the Plain text authenticator to check against the
password passed in rather than its md5 digest.
